Word Search Puzzles from Katherina Giselle

Puzzles help keep the brain sharp. Word search puzzles improve children’s working memory, spelling, extend their vocabulary, mental agility, visual acuity, problem solving and concentration skills, and self-confidence. I have observed that children like to do word searches in pairs in class. They also compete against one another to be the first to find all the words and cheer when they finish. Incorporating word search activities foster collaboration and healthy competition amongst peers. Children tend to be more focused when they do word search puzzles.

When my children were in primary school, they used to carry word search books in their bags. They took them on long train rides and trips to lots of places.

It is handy to have word search puzzles in the classroom and at home. Solving word search puzzles has a calming effect on children and adults.

So here are three puzzles for you to try. The puzzles are for primary school aged children. You can download and print out and highlight the list of words from Katherina Giselle. You will need to look for the words in all directions. Start with word search 1 (easy) and then do 2 and then 3 (tricky).
